Write up on back of Card: Artist Chris Stothard, born May 1952 in Louth, Lincolnshire, has been 'into' aircraft for as long as he can remember. He started painting aircraft in 1977 and has been an associate of the Guild Aviation Artists since the early 1980's. He has paintings in private and military collections worldwide.
Vulcan 607 The Vulcan based at R.A.F. Waddington, was in service with the R.A.F. from 1953 to 1984. Famous as the backbone of the 'V-Force' during the Cold War the Vulcan was used in anger for the first time in May 1982 when XM607 flew the first of the Black Buck' missions during the falklands War.
